Contacting the university: A roadmap

Contacting such a big organization such as the Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR) and our faculty the Erasmus School of Social and Behavioural Sciences (ESSB) can be very challenging at times. Where do you have to go with your particular question or issue? And how can you contact them? To help you out we have created this so-called "roadmap". This roadmap is a scheme where you can easily see which department you have to contact for your question. It works as follows: choose the category your question is in, specify your question within this category and see which department within the EUR/ ESSB is able to help you the best! Category I: Personal Questions or Issues

University Psychologists (EUR*)

You can contact the university psychologists if you have study issues and psychological, social and/or emotional problems that are hindering your study progress. If the university psychologists are unable to offer you the support you need, they will refer you to other external support agencies. There are several appointments you can make:

  • Open consultation hour: You can briefly discuss your symptoms to decide together with the psychologist whether it would be worthwhile to refer you to the university psychologists.
  • General Intake: In a General intake your problems, symptoms, background and needs will be discussed to decide what further support is needed. 
  • Groups & workshops: For enrolment in a group, you schedule an appointment for an intake interview to decide whether participation in such a group would be beneficial for you. 
  • PhD psychologist: For PhD's a PhD psychologist is available.

Study Advisors

You can contact the study advisors for matters related to study progress difficulties, delay in studies and (learning) problems. Student advisors can be reached by email or via the contact form (see below). For more information, click here!

Happy Student Society

Happy Student Society providse open hours by our trained well-being mentors. The mentors aim to provide first access to help with a lower threshold than the already existing offers by the university. Additionally, one-on-one sessions can be scheduled via their email eurhappymentors@gmail.com. The time and place of the open hours are announced on their Instagram: @happystudentsociety. Additionally, they just launched an anonymous chat forum on https://eurhappymmentor.wixsite.com/happy-student-societ, here you can chat with well-being mentors about your concerns.

Educational Office

You can contact the Educational Office for questions related to your course schedule, group compositions, missing results, exams and other administrative matters. You can contact them by using the contact forms or by phone.

You can reach us them telephone every working day between 10.00-12.00 hours at 010-4082025. You will be guided through a menu. If the number you chose is not in use, please dial again and choose a different year of the same study.

You can also come by the Educational Office on T15 next to the elevators on every weekday from 09:00-17:00.

Student Life Officer

Zera Brink, the Student Life Officer, can help you find answers to questions related to the practicalities of living in Rotterdam.
